Alexstrasza, The Dragonqueen
Alexstrasza is one of the most notable characters in World of Warcraft. She has extensive lore full of love, life, and tragedy. The titans gave her pantheon powers so she could use them to defend Azeroth. She is the guardian of life, a queen of dragons appointed by the titans.
She is the former aspect of the red Dragonflight. When Cataclysm happened, she took action and assembled the dragon aspects, their flights, Thrall, and many heroes to collect The Dragon Soul. Eventually, it was the dragon soul that helped end Deathwing’s reign of terror.
The five-great proto drakes defeated Galakrond. As a reward, the titans gave them a gift. They would use that gift and a purpose to defend Azeroth.
War
Neltharion deceived his fellow aspects and used the Dragon Soul to steal a portion of their power. After the War of the Ancients, Alexstrasza, Ysera, and Nozdormu used the Well as a tool to heal the land. They placed an acorn from G’hanir, the mother tree into the new well of Hyjal. The tree that would grow from this acorn would become known as Nordrassil.
Peace
There was a time when Alexstrasza and her red dragons were at peace. Other races started to rise to power. Many of the dragons believed that these people were dangerous. Some dragons felt that these races and humans should be educated, so that they could learn right from wrong.
The Second War
Alexstrasza was captured along with her consorts. The offspring they had were used by orcs as war mounts. Alexstrasza had no choice but to give in to the slavery, for if she refused, her unborn clutches would be killed by her cruel captor, Nekros Skullcrusher.
Personality
Amidst all she had been through, Alexstrasza is compassionate. She is known for avoiding killing if at all possible. She loves all living creatures and will protect them, and only those who menace the world or dragonflights will she go after.
This confident, strong, and righteous dragonqueen is probably one of the best lore characters you will ever run across. When she speaks to you, you can feel her love. She will not fight unless it is to punish or renew, and she is a strategic fighter.
