Power Couple: Rhonin and Vereesa Windrunner

What better way to celebrate it than with a power couple. I’ve always loved the story behind Rhonin and Vereesa, met on a mission and they fall in love, get married, and build a life together.

Rhonin and Vereesa met when she assisted him on a mission. He was sent on a dangerous mission to regain his honor and respect of the Kirin Tor after a previous mission got him thrown on probation for reckless use of magic, which cost the lives of his associates.

Let’s explore this wow power couple and you decide if you love them as much as I do.

Fate

During the mission Rhonin met his bride on, they fell in love and were married later. Rhonin was able to free Alexstrasza during the mission. There was a gemstone created by Deathwing’s scale that he was able to use to destroy the Demon Stone. Rhonin, Vereesa, and Krasus were among the few survivors of the courage that destroyed Lordaeron, Dalaran, and Quel’thalas after Prince Arthas became corrupted.

Twin Sons

Vereesa was pregnant with Rhonin’s twin sons. While they were preparing for it, Rhonin was summoned by Krasus to help. Krasus needed his help because he discovered a rift in time, but it swallowed both of them along with an orc named Broxigar. They ended up going back 10,000 years to the first invasion.

Rhonin’s Return

Rhonin ended up cleaning up Illidan’s mess and mentoring him during this travel back in time. After he finished, Nozdormu allowed Rhonin to return to the Vereesa at the moment she went into labor. This way he wouldn’t miss a moment of the lives of his twins.

Rhonin’s End

Lady Jain becomes the new leader of The Kirin Tor, Rhonin’s successor. He died trying to dampen the mana bomb explosion by using the magical defenses of Theramore. In the process, he named Jaina as his successor. He did manage to save Vereesa, Shandris Feathermoon, and their scouting parties from the explosion. Without his sacrifice, the explosion would have done so much more damage.

Rhonin has had ups and downs but ended his life with a woman he loved. In his death, he saved the woman he loved among others. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of such recognition for Valentine’s Day.
