What I Love Most About WoW

I have been playing World of Warcraft for 14 years. You don’t play a game that long and not have something you love or something that just keeps you interested. In fact, the only time I have ever lost interest was during Mists of Pandaria, so much that I actually uninstalled the game until the next WoW expansion pack came out.

I started playing as something to do when my husband got deployed on his deployments. Of course, we had just gotten married and with an infant child to care of, my time online would be limited. It was rare for games to keep my interested past a few months, with the exception of The Sims.

If you told me then, that I would have a 14-year-old and still be playing WoW today I honestly would not have believed you. Today, that same infant child is 14 years old, my husband and I are just celebrated our 14th Wedding Anniversary and I also make content surrounding World of Warcraft. WoW has not become something I do in my spare time, but a huge part of my life. So, what is it about WoW that I love so much?

Community

I love the community and the friends I’ve made. I Livestream and make YouTube videos, and I am affiliated with Zygor Guides. This all adds to the community and friends I’ve made, including writing for this awesome company! I run a guild, which helps out a lot as my guild is a wonderful group of people.

Memories

Not many know this, but wow was my first MMO. I have so many memories. The game has taught me so much, I’ve made many friends. Remembering my first guild or who taught me how to play the game. I remember once I kept dying and I asked dad for help.

I was a mage attacking with my staff and his response? “Where are your spells?” a moment I will never forget. You can keep on creating memories like this in wow.

Therapy

I have severe anxiety, which does affect me in Video games as well. My therapist uses wow for video game therapy to help me overcome my anxieties or at least work on them. It’s helped, so this is one of the reasons I love the game, if you are one of those who think video game therapy doesn’t work, think again.

Different Playstyles

There is no one way to actually play the game. In fact, you have different playstyles for leveling, raiding, etc. It’s all in the build you want to aim for or your goals. For me, I enjoy leveling and running guilds. That seems to be what I’m best at. It is one of the reasons I love playing the game and continue today.

There are so many other great features about WoW that keep people in love with the game. This long-standing game has lasted for some time, without the booming fan base it has, where would it be now? They keep things fun and interesting and with something fun for everything, we have to wonder “What is it you love about wow?”

Please tell us in the comments below what it is about wow that you love, we’d love to hear from you,
