We found out not too long ago that Blizzard was working on a Warcraft Mobile game. Now we have a date for the game reveal itself. The mobile game will be announced and revealed on May 3rd at 10 am PDT/1900 CEST. You can watch the reveal here.
In the initial announcement, the developer said that they would share more details in May. Mobile gaming appears to be the future of gaming as a lot of companies are starting to delve into mobile gaming. Blizzard is no exception to this rule with Diablo Immortal, Hearthstone, and now a Warcraft mobile.
BlizzConline 2022 was canceled to focus on the game and give us some releases or announcements. Here is hoping they make it worth it, for the latest updates.
Blizzard is still dealing with the ramifications of the lawsuit from California’s department of fair employment and housing. Recently parents of a Blizzard employee also filed a wrongful death case against Blizzard Entertainment. The wrongful death suit is the result of the suicide of a female employee back in 2017.
In most cases, we have leaks and other information that we get little bits of, however, Blizzard has been quite mysterious in the mobile game. There have not even been any leaks that we can see, we only know it is a Warcraft mobile game. This could mean a lot of different things as Warcraft is the series itself.
The Future of Mobile Gaming
One of the speculations is that this could be similar to Pokemon Go where you would have to go outside and battle others. Though with the COVID restrictions, this might not be the best idea and something similar to Warcraft 3 or another RTS-style game might seem to be a better option.
Blizzard has confirmed they are working on multiple mobile games, so it’s unclear what kind of mobile game we will get from them. If it is anything like what we know about Diablo, it will take what we love most and then compress it into a mobile-friendly format, but it’s really hard to say at this point.
What do you think we can expect to see in a Warcraft mobile game? What are you hoping for? Let us know in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
