What we Know About Dracthyr Race

There are more Dracthyr customizations that we did not see in the video we watched during the announcement. We will be able to change the shape of our face or even make the torso slender or bulkier to our liking.

Much like the Worgens, we will be in the Dracthyr form when we are in combat. With the customizations though we will be able to have snouts that look more ancient, sleek, or even a little blunter. It seems like Blizzard will give us a lot in the way of the customizations behind the new race.

The type of armor that you wear is a type of armor that will even be able to be customized at the barbershop. They will be able to wear shoulders, tabards, and belts across their visage and Dracthyr form.

Class/Race

This will be the first time we get an exclusive class/race combo. You will be able to design both humanoid and draconic forms. Unlike the Pandarens, you will be able to choose Horde and Alliance right at the start of creating the characters. The Evoker class will be able to choose between healer or ranged damage-dealer which harnesses the magic from all dragon kinds.

Drakthyr Racials

• Draconic Heritage: Dracthyr Evokers freely switch between two customizable forms—choosing between a humanoid visage, and a fearsome draconic form to battle foes and overcome obstacles.
• Choose Your Allegiance: Dracthyr Evokers seek to forge their own path in Azeroth and willingly fight for the Horde or the Alliance.
• Intro Experience: Delve into the story of the Dracthyr in a brand-new starting experience and learn how to use your new abilities before venturing forth.
• Specializations: Dracthyr Evokers can fight from mid-range with claws and fiery breath attacks (Devastation) or draw upon the life-giving magic of renewal to bolster their allies (Preservation).
• Empowered Abilities: Dracthyr Evokers can empower their draconic abilities through magic. Charge-up your attacks and unleash them at the right moment to maximize their effects.

Hero Class

The Drakthyr Evoker is a hero class that starts at level 58 and includes its own starting zone. This will allow players to play as a dragon without crushing allies in a raid or a battleground.

Lore

The Drakthyr were created by Neltharion to specifically wield the magic of all the dragonflights. This would give a distinctive style of spell casting. The two specs of Evokers will take advantage of the magic types. Devastation utilizes the Red Dragonflight as well as the blue dragonflights magics, while preservation will utilize the green and bronze Dragonflight.

There is a new type of spell called Empower. This will allow you to hold down a button to power up a spell. The longer you charge it, the more damage it could do or possibly even hit more targets as a result. Are you excited for Drakthyr Evokers? Will you be playing one?
