It is okay to make mistakes. Learn from those mistakes & move on. The mistake is an important part of growth. This can help you to learn how to grow as a person and as a guild leader. What is most important is what you do with those mistakes.
Recruiting is hard! The real trick is being charismatic, knowing how to talk to people and ,a good catchy ad that catches others’ attention. it is okay to have someone else write one for you or hire a Recruiter. They do have some addons that can help you recruit, and I’m not talking about super guild invite or fast guild invite, but add-ons like guild recruitment manager which will post your ad for you to save you space on a macro.
Being the Top
Your guild will not start out on top. To be on top, you have to get there yourself. You also need to decide if you want to be top in regards of size or top in regards to raids or whatever you decide in regards to the type of guild you are.
Don’t give up!
You’re going to see members come and go, that’s a part of life. Just brush off the pieces and move on. It just means they either were not the right member for the guild, or the guild wasn’t right for them or even both. It is okay and it’s not the end of the world.
Passing Reigns Over
If you feel you couldn’t handle it, it is okay to pass over the reigns. Not everyone is cut out to be a guild master, but don’t let anyone tell you you are not. You have to find that out for yourself.
Hard Work
Running a guild is not that easy. It is hard work and it takes work to be able to succeed. Sometimes you can have the time and other times you can’t.
Leadership Books
. The Guild Leader’s Handbook is a great book for any “new” or older GM, you can really learn something. If you are a manager at a store, then put those leadership skills you gained there to use in regards to running your guild.
Asking for Help
Never be afraid to ask for help from another guild leader, a friend, a family member, or an officer. Growing up, I learned that it is okay to ask for help if you need it. You never know who might be able to help you.
Suggestions
It is perfectly okay for guild members to make suggestions, this does not mean you have to take their suggestions. Just allow them to make their suggestions and take them into consideration. This is as much their guild as it is yours.
