The Case for Wrathion: Why He Deserves to Lead the Black Dragons

One of the main storylines in Dragonflight centers around Wrathion and Sabellian, the Black Dragons who currently lack a leader since their last one was corrupted and killed. Despite their reputation as enemies, Wrathion aims to bring them back to their original purpose of protecting Azeroth. Although he has made mistakes in the past, he is determined to lead the Black Dragons towards a brighter future.

This article presents the reasons why Wrathion should be the leader of the Black Dragons. It should be noted that the opinions presented are biased towards Wrathion and do not necessarily reflect the views of Warcraft Addicts.

Noble Intentions

Noble intentions set Wrathion apart from Sabellian, whose true intentions are unknown. The Black Dragonflight has been depicted as malevolent, with many of its members serving evil beings like Deathwing and Nefarian. Unlike them, The Black Prince has not been corrupted and even helped Ebonhorn fight off the corruption he experienced. This makes him unique among the Black Dragons.

Capable Leader

Despite his mistakes, Wrathion has demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership abilities. He may have freed Garrosh Hellscream in the past to fight the coming Legion, but he also made amends and worked with the Horde and Alliance to overthrow him. He is also willing to work with other factions towards his goals.

Fate of Azeroth

Wrathion has a personal stake in the fate of Azeroth, thanks to his prophetic vision and foresight. He has used this to help prevent catastrophic events and save the world from destruction, even if it means appearing selfish at times.

New Generation of Black Dragons

As the son of Deathwing and a member of the newest generation of Black Dragons, Wrathion represents a fresh start for the Black Dragonflight. He was born free of corruption and can lead them towards a better future.

While Wrathion has his flaws, he ultimately does what is necessary for the greater good of Azeroth. Leading the Black Dragons is his birthright and destiny.
